The Beginning

*When I first started my blog journey, I had a blog called Ending Unplanned*

This is the beginning of my literary journey. I am excited about embarking on this new experience, and sharing all the highs and lows with whatever followers may stop by.

While I’ve always been a writer at heart, it was only this past summer that I truly began to take it seriously. To take my ‘unwritten words’ and unspoken desire and try something purely for me. To really believe in myself.

While it still feels deliciously selfish at times–especially after devoting myself so completely to being the perfect Homeschool Mama and helpmeet to my beyond amazing husband–I am in total love with the whole process.

At least for now, my posts will be sporadic, possibly no more than once a week. I am actively writing my YA manuscript, currently only around 18,000 words. For this post, I will leave you with the lyrics to the song that inspired the name of this blog, and my story’s main character.

Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

I am unwritten, can’t read my mind, I’m undefined
I’m just beginning, the pen’s in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We’ve been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
