What I’ve been up to . . .

It has been almost a month since I last blogged, and I have been very busy.  I did indeed finish my book and revised it several times, along with printing it out and binding it which just made it seem so wonderfully real.

Then of course there was Thanksgiving and my daughter’s birthday and then our first family trip to Disney World which we just got back from.  (While Disney World itself was wonderful and Universal rocked, can I just sing the praises for the Disney Cruiseline?  Now that was the way to do Disney!!)

It has been a busy month and with Christmas around the corner, the next few weeks promise to be just as hectic.  I will probably continue to take a bloggy break until the new year, at which time I will unveil a new blogging schedule which will take into account our new homeschooling schedule.  But I am definitely going to continue sharing the next chapter in my writing journey as I query the completed novel and begin on my new project which I am extremely excited about.

Over the past month of revision, while I neglected my blogging duties, I kept up with my reading.  I was inspired and fell in love with so many wonderful new characters and wanted to quickly share the brilliant books I read the past few weeks, many of which I read repeatedly:

Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly

Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side  by Beth Fantaskey (I also just read the Wedding Book she posted as a freebie on her blog to hold us over to her sequel.  Fun stuff)

Firelight by Sophie Jordan

Slayed by Amanda Marrone

Flash Burn Out by L.K. Madigan

Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean

Sun Kissed Christmas by Katherine Applegate

One Night That Changes Everything by Lauren Barnholdt

Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead (the wonderful conclusion to the Vampire Academy series!)

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Plan B by Jenny O’Connell

Aces Up by Lauren Barnholdt

When the Stars Go Blue by Caridad Ferrer

A Field Guide for Heartbreakers by Kristen Tracy

Up next, after finally finishing A Great and Terrible Beauty, I am going to dive into Entice by Carrie Jones that arrives today, then Across the Universe by Beth Revis, Matched by Ally Condie, and Tempestuous by Lesley Livingston.

What about you?  Have you read any really good books over the holidays?  Any suggestions for my ever-growing To Be Read pile?

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!
