Lucky 7 Meme: Sneak Peek at Tale Of Two Centuries

I was tagged by Kelly Hashway for the Lucky 7 Meme. Thanks, girl! This is a fun one =)

Here are the rules:

  1. Go to page 77 of your current MS
  2. Go to line 7
  3. Copy down the next 7 lines–sentences or paragraphs–and post them as they’re written. No cheating!
  4. Tag 7 authors
  5. Let them know

Like Kelly, I have a slight problem… I don’t quite have 77 pages yet in my WIP! So we modified it to be page 7 of your current MS. And here’s mine, from TALE OF TWO CENTURIES, my companion novel to MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY, where a 16th century maiden romps through present day Hollywood:

Then, as suddenly as it began, everything stops. I finally find my voice. “What, in Signore’s name, was that?”

Unsurprisingly, the now calm and quiet courtyard does not reply.

Glancing down, I brush away the debris clinging to my surcoat—but the sharp crack of a twig behind me causes my hands to still.

Buna ziua, Alessandra.”

I spin around and my gaze lands on a girl near my age. Her long raven hair is unruly and tousled, her costume one of brightly colored skirts and sheer veils. Her arms are bare, as is a slice of bronzed skin around her midsection. Averting my eyes, a whisper of a memory taunts the edges of my mind.

How does she know my name?

A small smile, unnatural and amiss on an otherwise somber face, plays upon the girl’s mouth as she says, “The stars have heard your plea.”

As for who I’m tagging, I’m a rule breaker….so I challenge anyone who reads this to either leave theirs in the comments or on their own blog, and send me a link. (I’ll happily tweet it out!)
