RECIPE TIME!
To celebrate Taste The Heat, a romance starring a Cajun chef and a fire captain, I’m sharing some of my favorite recipes this week. And here’s one that I LOVE!!
Growing up in New Orleans, my favorite Easter treat was an Elmer’s Gold Brick egg. I mean, I was good with anything chocolate related, still am, but Gold Bricks are particularly scrumptious. And I have a recipe that helps fix that craving whenever I can’t find these delicious suckers in the store 🙂
2 sticks margarine or butter
4 cups pecans
1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chips
1 pt. Marshmallow Creme
1 large can evaporated milk
4 1/2 cups sugar
Boil evaporated milk and add sugar. Cook until this mixture comes to a hard boil (about 9 minutes). Pour over the mixture of pecans, chips, Marshmallow Creme, and butter. Beat well. Pour in greased pan. Chill for 3 hours. Makes about 5 pounds.
YUM!!!! You can thank me later 😉
