In Which I Share My Childhood Diary: Crushes & Squeeing for Taste the Heat

And so aother week begins 😉 I can’t tell you how blessed I feel, thanks to the outpouring of enthusiasm and support for my adult romance debut. It really means the world to me.

The past few days have been a whirlwind of activity around here, and on the Taste the Heat blog tour.

Saturday brought “4.5 Loving, Loyal, Trusting, Committed…GIVE ME A HOT, HOT, HOT, FIREMAN, TO HELP ME PUT OUT THE FIRE…STARS!!!” (he he he) courtesy of a FABULOUS review over at A Bookish Escape and Colby’s Top 5 Reasons You Should Be Swooning Over Fire Captain Jason at Comfort Books

On Sunday, Pink Fluffy Hearts called Taste the Heat “Sweet and sexy. A good heartfelt romance” and Brianna Lee Reviews featured one of my favorite excerpts.

Today, we have the Taste The Heat soundtrack over at Library of a Book Witch! Listen to what inspired me as I wrote Colby and Jason’s New Orleans love story. And Ali at Dazzled By Books has a lovely 5 bookshelf review.

Also, I’m positively SQUEEING over an AMAZING Micro-Review over at Grave Tells and a FABULOUS Review that made me smile and laugh (along with a fun interview) overe at The Fictionators, as well as a lovely review over at Book Junkie: Not So Anonymous

It was a busy weekend!

Now, if you visited the blog last week, you know I was talking food. Recipes, tips, substitutions, that was my topic. This week? Me and my fabulous Flirt Squad are talking childhood crushes 😉

Colby filled her childhood diary with thoughts of Jason Landry, so we thought it would be fun to talk about our childhood crushes.

Y’all, I’m taking it a bit further and sharing some of my DIARY ENTRIES on those crushes. Yep, I’m willing to embarrass myself in the name of fun romance. Plus, looking back at this stuff, I can’t help BUT laugh.

The entry I chose for today comes circa 1991. Oh yeah, you know the time. Big hair, teased off the yearbook picture. Biking shorts being acceptable outdoor wear. Good times. And this is from the the mind of preteen, BOY CRAZY Rachel:

(ahem)

Dear Journal,

I <3 Hot Boy*. He is SO cute. Brown-haired, brown-eyed, wedged hair, tanned body, and broad shoulders! That’s not all! He’s cute, funny, nice AND kind of good grades!!

But, he’s a year younger. Well, one year different isn’t bad. At least I can see him in the halls!!

Rachel

* Name changed to protect EVERYONE involved.

So yeah, I make this kid who had to be like ten years old at the most sound like a freaking movie star, and no, nothing came of this sad, sad crush. But it’s one of the first ones in the diary I happened to yank out this morning, so there you have it.

What about YOU? Did you write EMBARRASSING letters to yourself like this? Please don’t tell me I’m the only one??
