Don’t Mess With Johnny Depp, Y’all… Plus Delicious Reviews for Taste the Heat

Crushes are crazy things. What’s interesting is you can develop one for just about anyone. Some of my most intense and memorable childhood crushes were not in fact on people I knew, but celebrities. In fact, I went so far as to actually write about a few of them in my childhood diary, too 😉

But before I get into those, I want to give a quick shout out to the stops and reviewers for the TASTE THE HEAT blog tour today.

  • Harlequin Junkie gives TASTE THE HEAT 4.5 stars: “Sweet, emotional & very entertaining…deliciously delightful.”
  • Curious as to what I thought when I first saw the cover for Taste the Heat?? The humorous play by play is over at The Cover Contessa
  • And a fabulous 4 Star Review PLUS interview with hot fire captain Jason Landry over at Stuck In Books

Now, about those childhood celebrity crushes.

photo2Open opening my childhood diary, I see myself declaring on the front page, in black permanent marker, my love for Johnny Depp. And Cry Baby, because apparently his character in that movie deserves his very own adoration. About four pages in, I have a whole page dedicated to my love affair with Scott Reeves, a man who played the role of Ryan on Young and the Restless…because yes, I was addicted to soaps when I was a kid. Probably explains a lot…

Then, after several pages of childhood angst, going over the various fights with best friends, saying we’ll never be friends again, only to talk about sleeping over at her house a page later, and other entries about crushes on cute boys walking the halls at school, I have another page declaring my “Mega-Crush” on two cute guys, Chad Allen and Christopher Bolton. This was around the time Chad was starring in the tv show My Two Dads, which I adored…and I don’t even know what I saw with Christopher in it, but apparently, he made a “Mega” impression.

And shortly after that, I dedicate a few pages to the various “cute” male actors on Beverly Hills 90210.

This was just within a few months time, y’all.

Yeah….

So there you have just a sampling of the celebrities that made my preteen heart go wonky. What celebrities floated your boat when you were a kid??
